Red Hat unveiled Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 for the Indian market on 11th Nov.

Joel Berman, Vice President, Global Marketing at Red Hat in an interview to CRN said that RHEL 6 is more scalable and more flexible. “RHEL 6 can match the hardware requirement of the next five to 10 years. It can do 100TB and can work with 4,000 CPUs. By connecting multiple power saving units working as silos into one unit, it can reduce power consumption by 20 percent. Essentially, the new version provides immunity from future changes.”

RHEL 6 will provide the vendor with an edge over Microsoft and Unix
